Other Opportunities:

  • Melodic Minors Toy Drive: For our service project, we are helping others by collecting toys for children for the holidays.  Since our concert is right in the middle of toy season, we have figured out two ways to help kids:

1.  New Toy Drive!  Bring a new toy to rehearsal, December 14 and the concert, December 15.  Donations will go the Family Care Connections Centers, part of UPMC Children’s Hospital.  New toys need to be in the box and unwrapped, and the hospital said no homemade gifts because of sanitation requirements. .

  • YC2 Spring Registration: YC2 registration is now OPEN for second semester, beginning Saturday, January 11. Recruit some friends, or sign up and we’ll help create a new chamber group for you. Meet after SYM or WS rehearsal or before YPO rehearsal, prepare challenging repertoire with one of our awesome coaches, perform in beautiful spaces, and earn service hours and TRYPO points playing out in the community. More info at www.youthchamberconnection.org/programs.
  • French Woods Festival Open House: Are you interested in a summer music festival?  There will be an open house for French Woods with director, Rob Schaefer at the Dubin’s home this Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 12:00pm-4:00pm.  Please see the attached flyer for more information regarding the open house.  For more information about the festival, click HERE
  • FREE TICKET OFFER & SPECIAL INVITATION!

You are invited to hear TRYPO’s and YC2‘s wonderful coach Kathleen Melucci perform as soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, this Friday, December 13, at the First Unitarian Church in Shadyside (605 Morewood Ave, 15213)! The concert begins at 7:30pm but COME EARLY to hear TRYPO’s new woodwind quintet Yinz Winds – Lawrence, Nathan, Nathaniel, Sonny, and Zachary – play pre-concert at 7:00pm! COP is generously offering one free ticket to each TRYPO and YC2 member. RSVP here for your free student ticket. Click here to see program information and purchase tickets for accompanying friends or family. Tickets will be held at Will Call to be picked up that night

  • Chamber Music Pittsburgh Ticket Offer!

You and a guest are cordially invited to attend a concert by Brooklyn Rider, on Monday, January 6 at Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland – tickets compliments of Chamber Music Pittsburgh! Plan to arrive early, so you can hear YC2‘s Cygnus Quartet , PYSO’s 2019-20 Montgomery Fellowship Quartet, perform in the stunning lobby; then the concert begins at 7:30pm. RSVP by clicking here. Here is a bit about the Brooklyn Rider string quartet: Hailed as “the future of chamber music,” the veteran string quartet Brooklyn Rider presents eclectic repertoire and gripping performances that continue to draw rave reviews from classical, world, and rock critics alike. NPR credits Brooklyn Rider with “recreating the 300-year-old form of string quartet as a vital and creative 21st-century ensemble.”
