We love hearing from our alums about what they’ve been up to since their time in TRYPO! Today we feature cellist Marissa Muth! Read all about Marissa’s time in TRYPO and what she is doing now:
Marissa started playing cello at the age of four and immediately developed a passion for the instrument. She served as principal and assistant principal cellist of TRYPO’s YPO ensemble during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.
Marissa grew up in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh and attended Vincentian Academy High School. She attended Case Western Reserve University and graduated with accounting and finance bachelor’s degrees as well as a master’s in accounting – analytics. Marissa is currently an Experienced Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers and resides in the Pittsburgh area. She additionally serves on the young professional board of directors at North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) and actively volunteers with the Hello Neighbor and Outreached Arms non-profit organizations.
“The discipline, communication, and collaboration skills that I was able to develop during my time at TRYPO have carried through to my professional career. Even though I do not play the cello regularly, my time at TRYPO contributed to my lifelong love and passion for classical music, and for that, I am forever grateful.”
Marissa’s favorite memory of TRYPO was the opening music camp sessions at Bethany College. “Mini-camp was a wonderful way to socialize with the other orchestra members, and it was an exciting time to start working on our pieces for the season!” Marissa continues to have a passion for music and regularly attends the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concerts. She hopes to attend a future TRYPO concert soon!
