This season’s programming celebrates the music of North and South America and the composers who influenced it. From Astor Piazzolla and Michael Markowski to Béla Bartók, Felix Mendelssohn, and George Gershwin, we’re exploring the unique sounds brought to us by these musical minds!

  • For our final Senior Spotlight of the 2021-22 season, we are featuring two seniors from our violin section and one from our cello section. Learn more about Sophia, Max, and Katy below! Sophia  Sophia has been a part of the #TRYPOfam for six years. During her time in TRYPO, Sophia has played cello in Symphonette and Young Peoples Orchestra. Sophia became interested in joining TRYPO because she always heard fellow musicians speaking very highly of the program.   • Jeremy Black has been Principal Second Violin of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra since 2017, having played in the First Violin section from 2002 to 2017. He also performs as Concertmaster of the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra each summer in Chicago, a position he has held since 2005. Black has played as guest Concertmaster with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, and Buffalo Philharmonic, and in the violin sections of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Cleveland Orchestra.
