Watch: Michael Markowski’s “City Trees” performed by Three Rivers Young Peoples Virtual Orchestra

by rhoward

We couldn’t let Earth Week pass by without sharing the Virtual Orchestra Video our young musicians have been working on with music director Brian Worsdale and composer Michael Markowski. TRYPO’s 2019-20 Season theme has been centered on the four elements – earth, air, wind, and fire. In honor of earth, we began rehearsing Michael’s composition, City Trees, this January in preparation for our May 10 spring concert.

Since we can’t be together in-person at this time, Michael reimagined the piece into a virtual performance. If you recognize some of the trees in this video, it’s because they are all in Pittsburgh, as submitted by the virtual orchestra students. Please watch and celebrate the amazing spirit of our musical community, continuing to find ways to provide comfort and beauty to us all through the arts.
