39 of the 57 participants in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s EQT Student Side-By-Side Program are currently enrolled in a TRYPO administered program or are alumni of a TRYPO administered program! These talented student musicians in grades 9-12 have the amazing opportunity to rehearse and perform “side-by-side” with their Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra counterparts on the Heinz Hall stage. Participants receive personal coaching from their PSO stand partners and enhance their knowledge of the music field.
PSO Associate Conductor Earl Lee will conduct the performance on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 7:00 pm at Heinz Hall. Families can get free tickets by calling the box office (412)392-4900 or going to the box office on the night of the concert.
Repertoire includes:
Khachaturian: Masquerade Waltz
Bizet: Selections from Carmen
Elgar: “Nimrod” from the Enigma Variations
Tchaikovsky: Capriccio Italien
We are so proud of all of Pittsburgh’s young musicians!
