  • 39 of the 57 participants in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s EQT Student Side-By-Side Program are currently enrolled in a TRYPO administered program or are alumni of a TRYPO administered program! These talented student musicians in grades 9-12 have the amazing opportunity to rehearse and perform “side-by-side” with their Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra counterparts on the Heinz Hall stage. Participants receive personal coaching from their PSO stand partners and enhance their knowledge of the music field.   • Congratulations to Gracie Zielinski for taking first place in Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra’s Level II Young Artists Competition! Gracie has been a member of TRYPO for two seasons and plays in the first violin section of the Young Peoples Orchestra, TRYPO’s advanced symphonic orchestra program. The Young Artists Competition required applicants to perform two contrasting pieces. To showcase many different colors, techniques, and styles, Gracie chose the third movement of the famous Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor and a violin and piano arrangement of one of Schumann’s most introspective works, “Träumerei” from Kinderszenen.     Students, families, and concert-goers can always check here for changes in schedule due to weather conditions. About Cancellations: TRYPO might cancel rehearsals, concerts, or events, due to inclement weather or other natural disasters. In the event of a weather emergency or other situation where a rehearsal might be cancelled, weather cancellations will be: e-mailed to the TRYPO weekly notification lists, texted to the ensemble through Remind.com posted on TRYPO’s Facebook page and Twitter accounts, posted on TRYPO’s website, posted through WPXI Channel 11 and KDKA Storm Trackers.
