Katelyn Piroth is an orchestra teacher in the Pine-Richland School District, where she teaches fourth through eighth-grade orchestra. In addition to her work in the public school, she teaches private lessons for students in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. Ms. Piroth is also a member of the Butler Symphony Orchestra and often plays with other orchestras and various ensembles in and around the Pittsburgh area. She holds both her Bachelors’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Duquesne University, where she studied viola with Marylène Gingras-Roy. Tutti Strings is a preparatory ensemble for any young violin, viola, cello, bass, or harp player ages 8 – 12 with at least a year of playing experience. Tutti (2T) will focus on technique and basic ensemble skills while having fun! If you are interested in playing music, making new friends, performing in concerts, and learning more about playing your instrument, this ensemble is perfect for you!

This past June, our TRYPO musicians finally got to travel to New York on our Conquer Carnegie Tour and attend the French Woods Festival stay-away camp, followed by a performance at Carnegie Hall. While we loved to provide this opportunity for our musicians, it is even better to hear how meaningful the experience was for them after having to wait so long to go because of the pandemic. Hanna Kim has been the percussion coach for TRYPO’s Wind Symphony since 2021 and was a TRYPO member from 2007 to 2009, making her a part of the TRYPOfam for over a decade! Ms. Kim is currently a freelance musician based in Pittsburgh.
