  • TRYPO is thrilled to unveil an exciting summer initiative to provide honors band/orchestra audition preparation for students in grades 9 through 12. This FREE clinic is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and insights to excel in their honors auditions, offering a head start as they transition into the fall of 2023. Scheduled for June 28th from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at North Hills Middle School, this session promises to be a transformative experience for aspiring musicians.

  • Featuring YPO, Wind Symphony, Symphonette, and Tutti Strings! Join us for our Spring Concert Series: Music of the Americas on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland, featuring TWO performances at 1:15 PM and 5:15 PM. This season’s programming celebrates the music of North and South America and the composers who influenced it. From Astor Piazzolla and Michael Markowski to Béla Bartók, Felix Mendelssohn, and George Gershwin, we’re exploring the unique sounds brought to us by these musical minds!

  • Join us for the Second Benefit Concert for Ukraine featuring solo and chamber performances by Dr. Solomiya Ivakhiv, Musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh Faculty, and Youth Chamber Connection ensembles.   • Join us for, A Whole New World: Magical Music from the Silver Screen, featuring Pittsburgh Youth Chorus and YPO of Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras! This super-extra-special-collaborative performance takes place on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 3:30 PM at North Hills Middle School. We packed the program with our favorite music from Disney films, including Mary Poppins, Frozen, Aladdin, and more! We’ll perform classics from John Williams to Alan Menken to Elton John and can’t wait for you to smile along (and maybe sing along) with the beautiful music from these prolific movie music composers! Tickets are free general admission, but please register in advance.

  • Admission is FREE for the Open House opportunities below, but registration is required. Please fill out this form to sign up! (Students already enrolled in Wind Symphony, Percussion Ensemble, or Youth Chamber Connection do not need to sign up.) * * * Wind Symphony will host Open Rehearsals from Saturday, October 22 through Saturday, November 5, 10:30-12:30 PM, at Duquesne University’s School of Music. All students are welcome! (flute/piccolo, oboe/English horn, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, saxophones, French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, keyboard, and harp). Most students are 13-19 years old.   • Join TRYPO for our spring concert, Brand New Way, on Saturday, May 28, at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts. The program features Sibelius’s “Suite for Violin” with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra member Irene Cheng and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” with vocalist Dr. Zuly Inirio from UniSound’s Black Teaching Artist-in-Residence program. Becky Mack, Young Peoples Orchestra 2021-22 Concerto Competition Winner, will play an excerpt from Strauss’s “Oboe Concerto”. Composer and former TRYPO member Hannah Ishizaki will conduct the premiere of “Miniatures,” a string ensemble piece commissioned by TRYPO.

  • Register to attend or present your program today! Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras will again be hosting a Summer Experience Fair via Zoom on Thursday, March 24 at 7:00 PM to help students and families learn about summer camps and music-making opportunities available in-person and online this summer. We invite you and your students to join us to learn about all the program offerings. After the initial presentations, students and families will have the opportunity to meet each representative in break-out rooms to ask questions and learn more.
