Symphonette will perform music from some of the ‘Burgh’s own musicians, Henry Mancini and TRYPO Alum and Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra Principal Cellist Kathy Melucci, featured in the premiere of “A Three Rivers Rhapsody” by Kyle Simpson. We packed the program with our favorite music from Disney films, including Mary Poppins, Frozen, Aladdin, and more! Announcing FREE Spring Concert at Heinz Hall

The program features Sibelius’s “Suite for Violin” with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra member Irene Cheng and “Lift Every Voice and Sing” with vocalist Dr. Zuly Inirio from UniSound’s Black Teaching Artist-in-Residence program. Becky Mack, Young Peoples Orchestra 2021-22 Concerto Competition Winner, will play an excerpt from Strauss’s “Oboe Concerto”. Composer and former TRYPO member Hannah Ishizaki will conduct the premiere of “Miniatures,” a string ensemble piece commissioned by TRYPO.
