TRYPO Spring Concert Series (1:15 pm + 5:15 pm)
May 7, 2023 @ 1:15 pm - 6:30 pm
FreeJoin us for our Spring Concert Series: Music of the Americas on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland, featuring TWO performances at 1:15 PM and 5:15 PM. This season’s programming celebrates the music of North and South America and the composers who influenced it. From Astor Piazzolla and Michael Markowski to Béla Bartók, Felix Mendelssohn, and George Gershwin, we’re exploring the unique sounds brought to us by these musical minds!
The first concert of the day features Wind Symphony, led by Robert Traugh, and special guests Dr. Jason Kush performing saxophone on Piazzolla’s Oblivion and Chad Thompson, guest conducting a piece by Yukiko Nishimura. Young Peoples Orchestra will then take the stage with Music Director Brian Worsdale, featuring YPO Cellist and 2022-23 Concerto Competition winner Bridget Yun and more! Our second concert starts with the Carnegie Music Hall debut of TRYPO’s newest ensemble, Tutti Strings, led by Pierce Cook, followed by Symphonette.
