Read all about Marissa’s time in TRYPO and what she is doing now: Marissa started playing cello at the age of four and immediately developed a passion for the instrument. She served as principal and assistant principal cellist of TRYPO’s YPO ensemble during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons.   • Katelyn Piroth is an orchestra teacher in the Pine-Richland School District, where she teaches fourth through eighth-grade orchestra. In addition to her work in the public school, she teaches private lessons for students in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. Ms. Piroth is also a member of the Butler Symphony Orchestra and often plays with other orchestras and various ensembles in and around the Pittsburgh area. She holds both her Bachelors’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Duquesne University, where she studied viola with Marylène Gingras-Roy.   • We love to hear from our alumni and what they’ve been doing since their time with Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras. Natalie Kasievich was a violinist in TRYPO from 1992-1999. Sophia  Sophia has been a part of the #TRYPOfam for six years. During her time in TRYPO, Sophia has played cello in Symphonette and Young Peoples Orchestra.   • Jeremy Black has been Principal Second Violin of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra since 2017, having played in the First Violin section from 2002 to 2017. He also performs as Concertmaster of the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra each summer in Chicago, a position he has held since 2005. Black has played as guest Concertmaster with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony, and Buffalo Philharmonic, and in the violin sections of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Cleveland Orchestra.
