The YPO 2021-22 Concerto Competition will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at 5:30 PM at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music. Applications are due January 12, and the winner(s) will have the opportunity to perform their piece with the Young Peoples Orchestra (YPO) at TRYPO’s Spring Concert on Sunday, May 28, 2022, at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts. Any current YPO member may apply, but preference will be given to members in their junior and senior years. Please visit Concerto Competition for more information.

TRYPO Student Becomes First Female Eagle Scout In Laurel Highlands Council

TRYPO violinist Katy Appleman has become the first female Eagle Scout in Western Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands Council. This is a big achievement considering that it is one of the largest councils in the country which includes almost 17,000 young people. TribLive wrote a great story about Katy and this honor.
