Antonio  Antonio has been a part of the #TRYPOfam for eight years. During his time in TRYPO, Antonio has played violin in Symphonette and Young Peoples Orchestra. Antonio joined TRYPO because he wanted to find an inclusive orchestral community. “As someone with autism, it’s hard to socialize with others with the same interests as you. TRYPO definitely made me feel at home whenever I came to rehearsals.” His favorite memories were the Symphonette trip …

  • We love hearing from our alums about what they’ve been up to since their time in TRYPO! Today we feature cellist, Dan Radin! We’re so proud of his accomplishments!! Read all about Dan’s time in TRYPO and what he is doing now: Dan joined TRYPO in 2005 and played in both Symphonette and YPO ensembles. After he graduated from high school, Dan attended The University of Pittsburgh to earn a degree in Marketing with a Minor in Music. He then earned his Master’s in Healthcare Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Now, Dan is a professional musician and singer-songwriter. …

  • Featuring YPO, Wind Symphony, Symphonette, and Tutti Strings! Join us for our Spring Concert Series: Music of the Americas on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland, featuring TWO performances at 1:15 PM and 5:15 PM. This season’s programming celebrates the music of North and South America and the composers who influenced it. From Astor Piazzolla and Michael Markowski to Béla Bartók, Felix Mendelssohn, and George Gershwin, we’re exploring the unique sounds brought to us by these musical minds!

  • Join TRYPO for the 2023-24 season!   • Come to the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 15, for our ‘412’ Performance as part of the SYMcity Concert Series under the direction of Pierce Cook! Symphonette will perform music from some of the ‘Burgh’s own musicians, Henry Mancini and TRYPO Alum and Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra Principal Cellist Kathy Melucci, featured in the premiere of “A Three Rivers Rhapsody” by Kyle Simpson.   • On February 17-19, 2023, members of TRYPO’s Wind Symphony and Symphonette ensembles traveled to Washington, D.C., to play a concert with the ISO @ Third Street Symphonic Band and Musicians from the United States Air Force Band.   • February is Black History Month, and to celebrate, we are highlighting all the fantastic Black composers that have works included in our 2022-23 season. Learn more about Anthony Barfield, Valerie Coleman, Katahj Copley, Adrian Gordon, and Jessie Montgomery:  As part of our winter concert series, Young Peoples Orchestra (YPO) performed “Invictus for Brass” by Anthony Barfield.
